Our Beliefs
At Millersview Baptist Church, our beliefs are grounded in the truth of God’s Word. We seek to honor Jesus Christ in all that we do and live out our faith with grace, humility, and love. The following statements reflect our core biblical convictions:
1. The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the foundation for our faith and practice, revealing God’s plan for salvation and how we are to live.
2. God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who is holy, sovereign, and full of grace and truth.
3. Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead, and ascended to heaven. He is our Savior, Lord, and coming King.
4. Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift from God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is not earned by good works but secured by the finished work of Christ on the cross.
5. The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit dwells in all believers, empowering them for Christian living, spiritual growth, and service. He convicts the world of sin and guides believers in truth.
6. The Church
We believe the local church is a body of baptized believers who gather for worship, teaching, fellowship, and mission. Jesus Christ is the head of the church, and we are called to serve and reach others in His name.
7. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe in two ordinances: baptism by immersion as a public testimony of faith, and the Lord’s Supper as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice.
8. The Great Commission
We believe we are called to share the gospel with the world, making disciples of all nations, beginning in our local community.
9. The Return of Christ
We believe Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to establish His eternal kingdom. Until then, we live in hope, looking forward to His return and the fulfillment of God’s promises.
